Inspection Reports

My reporting methods are unique. While they adhere to a professional standard of practice (SOP), as required of any certified professionally performed inspection, the final report is both photojournalistic and narrative. I feel that any report should read and flow like a story or a plot line. It should be a documentary, not a mystery. Most inspectors employ reporting software that is template based as I do, but it is within the creation of the report and categorization of the report findings that truly define my methods. The final report is both a presentation of discovery as well as a roadmap providing guidance on both short and long term care and maintenance needs. It provides an insightful, eyes wide open evaluation as to the condition of the home but also has the feel of an owner’s manual once the process has been completed and the report is edited for final delivery. All buildings, whether new or from before the turn of the century, have their own unique idiosyncrasies and no two reports are remotely similar. Every report has a different story to tell and is crafted from this perspective.
